The girls were off of school this past Friday due to parent/teacher conferences. Rylan's was first, and she got all S's on her report card which is like an "A". She's just in Kindergarten so she doesn't really have any tests yet. Her teacher Mrs. Simoneaux said how well she is doing in class. She is definitely a "social butterfly" as she likes to call her and the most "loving" child in her class. She said she looks forward to her hugs from Rylan. In fact, Rylan seems to know all the teachers at her school. We were walking to her class and she's stopping to hug and talk to everyone. Funny part is all these teachers know her by name! What are we going to do with her!?!?!
Hailey's conference was next. Her teacher, Mrs. Finch, is super sweet and I talk with her through email at least once every few weeks. She is a very laid back, easy going teacher and has such a good bond with all her students. She just adores Hailey and has been working to make Hailey's time in class easier. She got her Leap Test scores from last year and scored all Mastery on everything except in Math but was still in Average for her grade level in math. She also is on Honor Roll for her first report card. All A's and B's!! I'm so proud of Hailey. She struggles so much in class with her concentration and test taking so this is a big accomplishment for her. I peaked in her other teacher, Mrs. Jones classroom to see how everything was going. She had all good things to say too. So far so good!!
Rylan has her first field trip next week to a pumpkin patch in Baptist, LA. Garrett and I are going with her. We try to go to all their field trips when they are younger or if they are far away. Rylan will even get to pick out her very own pumpkin to bring home!! The second week of November Hailey's class is going to the Planetarium which should be lots of fun! We won't be going with her to that but she's really excited about the trip.
