Helen Brett Jewelry Show, New Orleans LA

As most of you know, Jessica and I had a booth at the New Orleans Jewelry Show.  We had no idea what to expect going into this.  Normally we are just “shoppers” not vendors.  Thanks to LSU and the Saints…those games really hurt our sales since most people left early to watch the games on Saturday and Sunday.  We did exceptionally well compared to other people that are there every show.  People LOVED our products and the many, many glasses were so eye catching.  Obviously this was a learning process and have lots that we would do different next show, lol, I don’t even want to think about next show!  We are still recovering and so tired that we can’t make a sure decision about how we felt we did.  Lots of hard work, preparing, setting up, unpacking, working, and then taking it all down and packing up.

Notice the guys having SO much fun helping us set up.  They really were a huge help, we would of never finished in time without them.  As you can see we had a LOT of stuff to unpack, unwrap and set up.  This was by far, the most exhausting trip I’ve ever taken.  We didn’t leave the convention center until about 10pm and were not even finished.  We arrived around 8:30am to finish up the next morning before the show opened at 10.

WOW!  This wasn’t even all the glasses, we still had a whole other shelf full plus extras in boxes.  I can’t believe I actually painted all of these myself….and only in about 2 months!

We had one 10x10 booth plus a 10x15 so we had a good bit of room.  Thank goodness we had such a large booth because we used every inch of it.  Especially since we had so much breakable glass it made it easier for people to come in a shop without being too cramped.  Although at times…many times…our booth was crammed FULL!!!!

Poor Jessica…..She worked the register most the time and I am shocked she could keep up with everything.  At most times we had a line of people and were steadily checking people out.  Keep in mind we were totally delirious the whole show, from lack of sleep, emotional stress and just being super busy.  Not sure I want to even think about doing another show anytime soon….we need a break!!  Oh wait, in 2 weeks officially starts “Holiday Season” at the mall.  Longer hours and the dreaded but profitable “Black Friday” is right around the corner.  It feels unreal that it is already this time of year again.  It literally feels like last month we were opening our mall location.  Here’s to a great Holiday Season…hope we double last year’s totals!!!
