Can we say B-U-S-Y!!! I feel like we’ve been running nonstop since school ended. We got back about a week ago from Gulf Shores. We decided to leave early to try to beat the oil rumors and left on Saturday. Well by the time we got there it was pouring, and I mean torrential rains! It would let up then rain again. One of the many times it “let up”, we all walked down to the beach. Boy was that a bad idea. As soon as we walked all the way down, got to the beach, guess what….it started POURING!! So us all in our clothes, got soaking wet!! We ended up staying in the condo the rest of the day. The forecast called for the same rain Sunday but surprisingly enough it was clear skies. We had great weather after that. Finally by Thursday I had gotten alot of sun, not burned, just lots of sun so I decided to put on sunscreen on my face. I just wanted to protect my face from getting too much more. I don’t normally wear sunscreen because I do not burn usually and I’d just prefer to get a tan rather than keep my skin safe. So after putting the same lotion I’ve used on the girls on my face we went down to the pool for an hour or so. I started breaking out into a rash on my face. Started to not feel so great and we decided to leave early and go back home. We planned on staying until Sunday, so needless to say the girls were not too excited about the early departure. My face got worse and worse on our way home. I had broken out into hives everywhere I put the lotion. By Friday morning my face had swollen up like a balloon. Today (Wednesday) is the first day I woke up without a swollen face!! I’ve pretty much been in bed since we got home, on Benadryl and Aleve. It’s been absolutely awful! I know now to not use sunscreen, at least the type I used. But I’m sure I won’t risk trying other brands. I’m obviously allergic to some chemical in the lotion but there’s no way to pinpoint which one. Hopefully I’ll be fully recovered soon. Aside from this minor issue, we had a great time. We only saw few tarballs, which I got the privilege of stepping in and getting tar all over my foot. I finally got it off using Dawn. Gulf Shores was not crowded at all. It was strange being able to walk into Live Bait and get seated right away, especially at 7:30!! Very sad for all the local businesses being affected by the oil spill.

One of the MANY hermit crabs she found…
Garrett found about a dozen crabs, very glad my feet weren’t around one of those snappy things!
I’ve never seen a starfish in person before, it was interesting to see how they walked. He was actually very fast! He was safely returned to sea.
I have never seen this many hermit crabs before. Garrett and Hailey spent over an hour with their goggles looking for these out in the water.
Very bored on the rainy Saturday. It was torture seeing the beach from the window but not being able to play!
Look how sandy Hailey is….omg I would DIE if I had sand all over me like that.
Dip-in-Dots…..Y-U-M!!!
